Wow a great lot of learning today. Some of the ways to use short cuts were extreemly handy. Using
This poster allowed me to explore a whole new range of skills using google docs to present. This is fantastic for me as I have recently felt really stiffled as far as presenting goes with google docs. I use to be a master of publisher and was able to present really smart looking things. I have used comic life and loved that then became a master of pic collage. So now I create lots with docs but they are not so pretty. From today on I have new skills to work with when I embark on further creations in docs! Yay... so excited to try these out more!!!

I am ready to that a look at SORTING AND ORGANIZING. I am so glad that no one looked at my digital organisation. Lots of tips and reminders on how you can sort and organise digital information well. I am going to go through and have a clean up and sort our the many docs I have (ensuring all are titled and filed! I have folders and now have additional organisational tips to arrange my files and docs in a way I can more easily find what I need. The visibility of who I share information with is something that challenged my thinking so that is something to revisit and attend to..
We had discussion around a few key words and information that helped me to clarify and understand what
happens in docs and when linking and organising information
These things I will use with my own organisation, sorting my drives and info both personal and School related
You may want to have a document linked into some other of your systems planning ect as a reminder or link -this is like a ghost of the orriginal but will likn and show all updates of orriginal

Shift Z - Can link a file to another so you can see it in both
MOVE means move or take away from that space…. Add duplicates and adds to somewhere else.
Use the headings button to edit docs with out doing it yourself
Copying text unformated will be so useful when doing any professional development essays ect. As will the headings settings and using
liknking headings searching or taging specific bits of text. Addding a contents table was reall helpful too.

Kia ora Rachel,
ReplyDeletehow exciting for you to be at DFI. I loved it when I attended last year and I learnt so much.
You sound very excited about being able to organise your files and folders in your Drive. Sometimes my Drive looks like the pantry at home and I can't find anything. Filing seems to be something that challenges many of us.
I couldn't read some of your content as it was running off the page - that is when ctrl+shift+v works and will keep the text within the blog post. If you need a hand with this Herman and I are at Makauri next week and can help you edit this post with you and remove the formatting if you like.
Looking forward to following your DFI learnings.

Kia ora Rachel,
ReplyDeleteGood to read you are learning lots. Once you get the hang of using the G Suite tools all your previous skills can be put to good effect in the G Suite. You will be flying!
Now you know how to fix formatting you can go back and sort this post as it is difficult to read with words off the page!
